Dagestan-born Russian UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov was born on September 20, 1988 in Dagestan. He is the second child in a family of 3 children.
He started Wrestling at the age of 12, Judo at the age of 15 and Sambo at the age of 17. His father was also a Sambo teacher. Khabib was raised by his own father. He made his MMA debut on September 13, 2008 and started his first match in MMA history with a win.
In the tournament he participated in 2008, he played 3 games on the same night and won all of them.
He fought in Russia and Ukraine until 2011.
He faced Kamal Shalorus in his UFC debut in 2012. He carried his success in Russia to America by winning his first match in America.
He made his 18th game in 2013 and got his 18th victory at MMA. Thigo knocked out Tavarez in less than 2 minutes.
He played one of the most important games of his career in April 2014. Khabib Nurmagomedov, who faced the future champion Rafael Dos Anjos, scored an important victory by defeating his opponent.
He suffered an injury before his major games at UFC 178 and 187, and went back a while in his career. After a long injury, Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Darrell Horcher in 2016.
He became the UFC lightweight champion in 2018.
