ADAC GT Masters 3rd and 4th races were held on the Red Bull Ring track in Austria on 23-25 May.
With the participation of Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Lamborghini and McLaren brands, 21 factory pilots, including our national athlete Ayhancan Güven, took the races between 23 vehicles and 46 pilots.
Swiss Mercedes driver Marciello took the pole position in the qualifying laps of the first group of pilots who went to the track on Saturday, while our national athlete Ayhancan Güven achieved the 2nd place with his Porsche.
BMW pilot British Green started the race in 3rd place and after the pit stop, the second group of pilots got behind the wheel and the race ended with BMW, Porsche and Mercedes taking the top 3 places.
In the first day race, which was led by BMW, Ayhancan Güven and his teammate Christian Engelhart took the second place on the podium, while the Mercedes drivers took the third place.
In the Sunday race, Ayhancan’s teammate Christian Engelhart was 3rd in the qualifying laps, and BMW drivers took the first two places.
Christian Engelhart, who started the race in the 3rd place, could not respond to the pressure of the Audi driver Vanthoor behind him and transferred the car in the 4th place at the pit stops.
Our representative Ayhancan, on the other hand, rose to 3rd place after the same Audi received a pit penalty. Our representative, who made no mistakes, took the podium after two BMW drivers.
Thus, Ayhancan closed the weekend with a podium.
With this result, BMW took the lead in the championship with 60 points, while Ayhancan’s Porsche number 91 rose to the 5th place in the championship with 50 points.
